88 pickup shortbed, bed weight
#2
Strange question. I'll bet nobody does.
I can try and give you a rough estimate. Based on about how much I think my 88 longbed weighs, minus some. I'm guessing it's in the ~450 lb. range ± 50 lbs. So I'll say a shortbed is probably around ~400 lbs. ± 50 lbs. They could be a little heavier than that even, but certainly not a whole lot lighter. They're heavier than they look, that much I do know for sure.
Why do you ask?

Not sure of the weight but i know when I took the beds off both my trucks they were easily lifted by 2 people so they can't be to heavy. I would guess somewhere around 300-400 pounds.

trying to decide what to make my flatbed out of I do not want it to be heavier than the stock bed but I also don't want it to be much lighter. If I use 2x3x3/16 square tube I will be at around 225lbs without the diamond plate deck I will also be cutting about 6 1/2" off the frame. I do agree with around 300 lbs I can move my bed without tailgate fairly easily
