88 22RE, bucking and surging as I drive..first post??

It won't actually die but will really start bucking hard and surging and I run through the gears. 2nd/3rd-5th..right at about half throttle.

Is there any chance the fuel filter is just dirty? The truck has about 260K miles on the clock but 50K on the motor.

Thanks for any advice or pointers,

Donnie

Check your spark plugs first.

I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and wires about 10,000 miles ago. Will definitely check them though tomorrow as it's easy anyway.

Thanks so much,

Donnie

Does it burn any oil? Oil will foul up spark plugs pretty quick.

Yes actually it does burn some oil. The rebuilt engine has about 50K on the clock but it burns 1 1/2-2 quarts per 3-4000 miles.

Will definitely check the plugs.
