88 1st gen intermittant miss.

Hola!

my 88 first gen, 3.0 auto, just started an intermittent miss today. What could be causing this? it will run smooth for a while, then start missing, then smooth...

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance,

when was the last tune done on the truck?

I would start with that:

New spark plugs, cap and rotor and possibly fresh oil.

Check your airfilter aswell.

How old is your fuel filter?

Spray some carb cleaner on each injector to make sure none of the seals are bad, that's where I would start. If it revs up you found the problem.

I did a full tune, turned out to be a bad spark plug wire, grounding on the block. With new cap and rotor, wires, etc, I don't know but it seems like it's running better than it has since I bought it...
