Let me jump right into it. I have an 87 4runner SR5 automatic. I have been collecting parts in hopes of converting it over to a turbo. Fast forward to now and I have gathered all the parts needed to pull this off. Unfortunately the turbo harness I acquired does not work with automatic transmission I have in my 4runner. I still have the original harness from my SR5 and I’m just wondering if I’d have to modify it in any way to get it to work with the turbo set up?
Off the top of my head the manual and auto engine harness isn't that different. The signals are similar but have different connectors. Like your park neutral safety gets hooked to the clutch safety instead.
The biggest difference between your sr5 harness and the RET harness is the injectors on the turbo are hooked up in pairs instead of batch fired.
