87 4Runner I'm picking up
Hi everyone!
I'm going going to be new to the club! I though I would say Hi and show you what I'm pickup this weekend. It's an 87 with 241,000 miles / Auto trans, engine has been rebuilt. Here are a few shots of it and apparently the only rust is on the front fenders. Thoughts?

Looks clean!
wow that engine bay looks clean!
not a fan of the red interior however I didn't like my brown interior(wanted to swap it to black for the longest time) but it grew on me. Especially now that I am considering replacing the rear panels and center console so the option to use a natural wood look is nice (sealed of course)
anyways rust can be like an iceberg in that what u see on the surface is just the beginning. Def check kick panels too and inside fenders (as said) to look for more. But don't let a lil rust scare u away as far as these trucks go yours looks pretty good! Just be aware there may be more rust hiding somewhere. You could spray the bottom of the truck with black paint or bed liner to protect against chips if u use bedliner be careful and do good prep work. PO did mine and it started peeling so I removed it and discovered some rust damage. The area didn't seem to be sanded tho so don't think it was properly applied. Also they have the paint that peels off so u could peel it off later on down the road. Then you could repair the rust and not have to repaint the whole vehicle.
Nice find love those graphics! Losing my original graphics will be the hardest part of having mine repainted will def have to find some replacements to keep the old school Toyota look (and some "TRD" stickers lol)

Looks good! Fenders are easy to replace when they rust. They just bolt on. Might be repainted as the chip guards in front of the rear wheels were always bare (black) plastic, never white.
