86 rear window switch wiring
Okay, so the numbers correspond with the wires directly below them.
I was hoping someone could tell me what wires are POS(+) and which are NEG(-) .
I found out through trial and error that my rear window works, If I jump(I used a screw driver) wires 1 and 2 the window rolls up and if I jump wires 4 and 5 the window goes down. I know wires 1 and 5 control the small light in the switch.I believe wire 3 is a ground for the window switch and 2 and 4 are positive. Here is where I am confused no matter what way i write it out at some point I have to be jumping 2 positives or 2 negitives.I would really just like to cut and resolder the switch and forget all this.Any help?
BTW jumping wires 2 & 3 or 3 & 4 do nothing.I also dont own a voltmeter, just a fire extinguisher and extra fuses
