I Picked up this 86 Toyota Pickup last week is in kind of some rough shape so I have been thinking about making a flatbed of some sort to hit the trails and still use as an around town truck. I have access to the shop tools either at work or the college I attend I was wondering how I would go about adding mounting points for a steel bed and front bumper and/or reinforcing the frame if need be. any design help is much appreciated I am pretty eager to get the bed done pretty fast.

First you need to figure out just what type of bed you want .

Then design your mounts around that

Some even use the stock bed mounts or move them to where you need them.
