86 4Runner Tailgate

i was wondering if anybody had pictures of the tailgate assembly, i am trying to put mine back together again and i need to kno what i am missing

becuz when i pull up the handle nothing happens..

The window has to be all the way down before the handle will work.

the window is all the way down, but i think i am missing a piece or something, idk...i will get pictures when i come home from work tonight

Are the cables routed properly? Are they hooked into the retainers? Make sure the sliding mechanism for the lock is sliding it's full ranged and lubed.

i dnt even have the little knob to unlock it, which piece moves to unlock it?? i bought the truck when it was like this, hopefully i can figure this stupid thing out soon...cuz its hella annoying...loL

rear window pic

This was the best pic I could get.

Hope this helps you figure out what you need. The rod that controls the lock is definitely awol.(maybe that's all?) That rod makes a turn -just past where it goes out of sight - and goes staight to where the lock button used to be. (I guess that makes at least two pieces missing)

Looks like I might have overdone it with the grease... I forgot I did that.

ok, so i got it working finally, but i am missing the rod and knob for the lock...anyone no where i can get one?
