Hello all,
I've exhausted all of my options so I must turn to you. I have an 86 pickup with the carburated 22r engine that will not start. The engine has 180 psi across all four pistons, has spark, and has a brand-new carb on it. I've ran the ignition off of the truck's wiring and off a separate battery, with no change. I've tried two factory carbs and two Webers. It is almost as if the truck has given up. The engine will fire, but only for 1 second, and roughly. The longest I've managed to get it to run for was 5 seconds, after which it promptly sputtered and died. This issue started when I was driving down the road, the engine sputtered then died, and hasn't run since. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have another engine but I do not want to resort to doing the swap.

 

is the fuel pump delivering enough fuel to the carb?
