It just seems odd that Toyota would tell Caffiene no alignment. But then again like I told him, call back and get someone different and I am sure that he will get a different story. I did and each different person had a different attitude and interperetation of the the recall.

alignment

I have a buddy at Toyota of Garden Grove (So. Cal). He's a service rep and when I called him today to ask if there have been any problems with the recall, he said the only problems have been with neglected vehicles or modified ones. He mentioned about the vehicle needing to be aligned without me even bringing it up. He said it was covered.

Do what everybody is saying & call back & ask about toe adjustment. When they say it is covered then bring up the fact you dealer doesn't have an alignment machine. you can then start a case number and they will arrange to have the alignment done or pay you for it. Stop freaking & call them.

Well I don't know what to tell ya. I just called toyota canada 1-888-869-6828 & the guy wasn't sure so he went & referenced the letter. He read me the letter & it specifically says to check and adjust the toe. Call again. Ask them to reference the letter sent out. If you get nowhere tell them that you want a manager & to start a case file.

Ok, maybe they're not reading it and just saying they are. I'm trying a different route and submitted an online form. This sure seems like a lot of work for a $70 job.

The letter that he read I think was the letter to us, but I am not sure it could have been the actual order as well.

I will check mine when I get home. Does toyota have you registered as the owner of the truck? IF not call the 1-800 # and let then know. This way you will recieve all notices about your truck like this recall. Also about twice a year they will send you a newsletter.

I checked the letter that I got from toyota & it didn't say much & didn't have any details. I would call toyota and start a case number. They will then have a senior advisor look into it. They will look at the recall itself & see that the toe is included. They will then arrange to have something done. Call & talk to someone with authority, have them read the actual letter from toyota head office on what should be done.
