Anyone here live near KC? I've been looking for a local shop to install my gears. Let me know if you have any advice so I dont end up spending an arm and leg.
Thanks,
Joel

Well I just order a 3rd member for the rear so my SAS has begun. I'm going with 5.71's w/ 33's so I can make the trip from where I live outside of Kansas City to the University of Arkansas and still be able to use O/D. I'll have a bunch of parts left over if anyone is interested.
Here's a list of parts:
1) Front Superlift 4" Kit
2) Rear V6 3rd w/ 4.88's
3) Front IFS 3rd w/ 4.88's
4) Westin Push Bar
5) Rock Crawler Wheels

If you're planning on putting lockers in, I would do them at the same time as the gears, even if that means waiting. You'll spend the money on labor twice if you do them seperate.
That's why I'm still open at both ends. I want to regear to 4.88s and do ARB's, but I have to buy two gear sets, two lockers, two install kits, and the compressor. I couldn't do anything but have the compressor until i get it all.

$200ish per axle is the gong rate everywhere I've heard of IF you take the thirds into the shop... $500/axle is a DEAL if you're just dropping the truck off.

I've phoned a few shops around Calgary, and most places charge 6hrs. at $90+/hr it adds up quick. I've only found one shop that does for $200/diff...I'm going to them.

I can turn a wrench but I'm not a gear expert. If I dropped of the 3rd and had the shop install the gears and lockers, how hard is it to put the 3rd back into the truck? Sorry for the lack of knowledge in this subject.

Not bad:
Front - undo the CV's, disconnect the driveshaft, drop the front diff
Rear - remove the brake drums, undo the ebrake, pull the axles, remove the driveshaft, pull the thirdmember
5 gal buckets work well for carrying the diffs

Well, if it saves me about $300-400, I'll gladly do it. I just dont want to get myself up ˟˟˟˟˟ creek without a paddle if I decide to drop them in myself.
