hi friends!!!
a few days ago i was driving my beloved 4runner and i get stucked in a trail so i decide to use the 4wd , yuuuuhuuuu time to make some mud diggin,but for a reason my 4wd indicator doesnt light up!!!! so i move to 4h then 4lo and move it a little forward and then 2h and it seems the 4wd was working.anyway i managed to get out of the trail with no problems and keep driving on road to my house wile parked in my garage i tried again the 4wd system and the light turn on for a few seconds,!!!!! uuhhhhhmm something is wrong i said!!! so i take the service manual and start to check avery external component of the 4wd everything was ok and the light was not working so i take off the gauges and check all the instrument panel lights,only one blown the seatbelt reminder.routing the indicator light i see a little plug near the exhaust manifold the left one and it ends in the 4wd indicator switch so i remove the entire cable and it was dirty at both ends filled with dirt and grease ,i clenaed the plug s but whena i was going to reattach the plug in the engine bay i discovered that the male plug doesnt activate the locking pin,it was broken!!!!!! thats the reason why my 4wd indicator light was intermitent!!!!! sooooo i make a new plug with few spare ones and now is working like new again.

interesting, my prev 22r 4x4 had a failed indicator, but my new(er) 3.0 is working fine...

nice to know how to fix stuff.
what engine do you have ??
