4runner HU

My 95 4runner cd player has no power going to it. The radio works fine though.I had bought the truck from my bro, and he said the cd player stopped working ever since a shop had put a roof rack on it. I'm wondering if they had unplugged anything.I wouldn't think so,since the stereo is nowhere near the roof rack. Is there any way the hu can be tested in the truck or do I have to take the whole unit out.Maybe you guys can give me some well needed advice.( I'm not very electronically inclined) Hopefully I don't have to get a whole new system. I like the looks of it.

Is your HU seperate from the radio?

If it is then there is a chance that it could just be a wire.

To check the wires you will have to remove the HU and check the connectors at the back.

I agree with you that the roof rack would be unlikely to interfere with any wiring.

If your HU includes the radio and CD then the problem is likely internal to the HU.

The cd player is part of the whole unit therefore I"ll pull the whole unit out.Hopefully it's not too hard .Thanks.I'll also check the FSM and see if there's any info in there that will be helpful. Thanks again.
