Hey all

I have a 93 pickup with the 3.0 and manual trans. 215,000 or so miles. Have been recently noticing an inconsistent idle and high idle when highway driving. Some mornings I’ll start the truck and it’ll idle around 900 rpm’s and other mornings it’ll idle around 1500 rpm’s.

Also after about an hour or so of highway driving (65mph down the interstate), when I throw it in neutral the rpm’s stay high around 2000. You have to shut the truck off and let it sit for a minute to get the idle rpm’s back to a normal range.

Any ideas on what would be causing this would be greatly appreciated!
