3VZE timing belt experience and thanks

First of all thanks to all members who posted their tips, tricks, and write-ups on doing this maintenance. I read many threads prior to starting work and it definitely helped. My truck is a 1992 V6 5 speed 4X4.

I would like to encourage anyone who is thinking of doing this to go for it, it is time consuming the first time through, but not technically difficult. I am not a pro so if I can do it anyone can. I spent probably 10 hours total, but I worked slowly and had a few unforseen delays. Next time I could probably do it in 5 hours or less. I replaced the timing belt, both idler pulleys, water pump, thermostat, cam and crank seals, radiator hoses, and drive belts.

The only problems I had was my radiator bracket was broken, so I had to go get that soldered back on, and I needed to go rent a harmonic balancer puller to get the crank pulley off. Everything else was straightforward.

Again, thanks to the YotaTech community for their help and support.

Dave

Nice to hear that someone used all the information on this forum effectively - even without questions.

So what's next Dave? You started tinkering - can't stop now!
