3VZE - Stumped bout Spark

Hi, I'm a new member here, but I've been using the site for a while on little things here and there for my 4Runner. I've ran into a really tough one though and I wanted to see if anyone else familiar with the V6 could help me out. I've checked almost every thread about people checking for spark and I've tried almost all of their remedies but I haven't found one that has worked yet.

The problem; No spark.

What I've checked; Primary & Secondary coil resistance, in spec according to the FSM.
High Tension cord resistance - in spec.
Power to the coil and ignitor - ~12V
Signal generator (pickup coil) resistance on distributor - in spec.
All spark plug wires resistance are in spec.
I have good compression and fuel to the cylinders, the engine will crank without any hesitation but refuses to fire.

All I can think of right now is wiring. Can anyone tell me common trouble spots for corrosion of wires. I've checked a bunch of joints and bends in the engine compartment and so far the wires all look brand new.

Anything coming to mind?

I had similar issue, it was ignitor. All I can think besides ECU, if everything is testing good.

I have heard people having problems with bad grounds for the coil. Not sure if that would cause lack of spark altogether though. You could remove and clean the grounds anyways, couldn't hurt. Once i had a rotor go out on me. Backed out of my spot, put it into gear and she died. No spark but it would turn over fine. Remove the rotor and try a resistance check from the center to the end.

Good luck,
Jason

Thanks Jason, I checked the rotor for resistance - got about 130 k ohms from the centre to the edge of the rotor. I took a look at the contacts inside the cap, they look a little corroded and I'm worried their not making contact with the rotor...?
Also a little background when the truck quit
running, it sounded like it was running out of fuel and then just died. Does this sound familiar

Fixed the spark problem, combination of the MAF and a worn out rotor. I have used starting fluid into the intake and she'll fire up for a second then die. There is fuel to the rail, my concern is either the Fuel Pressure Regulator or the Cold Start Injector.

Would the cold start injector have enough flow (if leaking - totally open) to keep the engine from firing?

It sounds to me like your injectors aren't fireing now. I would check all your connectors and clean them all. There is alot if stuff that will make the ecm not ground them. Clean the ones going directly into the ecm. And check all the relays and fuses. There is a big relay above the ecm called the circuit opening relay. Check that one to

Thanks for the help, turned out to be a loose fuel pump wiring harness. It would run the pump intermittently. Taped er' up snug and she's ready for mud. Thanks fellas!
