3vze rebuild

I have a few questions, I am getting a 1992 4runner that has a blown headgasket, its the original motor with 224k and if the inspections warrants that it doesnt need to be reringed and bored and all that good stuff, I still want to replace the rod and main bearings while it is down, the question on this is can I do this with the motor still in the rig, and also do I just need standard bearings all the way around if im not grinding the crank at all. Thanks in advance.
