Hey guys,

I'd like to have your take on what these fumes captured in that video might be?
I initially thought they could be from a leaking ECT (I replaced it a few months ago) but it looks like it's coming from further right (passenger side) rather than from the middle (manifold area). I couldn't really tell from the smell...
I haven't had time to crawl under the truck to see anything yet, just that noticeable fume after a quick ride to town. I'll check again next week-end on cold start (to rule out anything related to cooling: cold coolant shouldn't fume since no pressure = no vapors).

If it's a leaking header what's the easiest fix?

One thing worth mentioning is that it doesnt sound any different and based on my searches it seems like there is always some kind of noise coming from an exhaust leak...

any idea what else that could be?

 

Check all the coolant hoses going into the coolant bypass. When they drip, it falls onto the crossover. To me, burnt coolant has a mineral like smell.

 

Spent some time today trying to figure things out to no avail.
Cold or hot I couldn't see any fumes today. It was quite a bit warmer today than it was last week-end, so I am wondering if snow could have dropped onto part of the engine causing it to evaporate.
