3VZE Creeping Timing (belt) marks ??

This is my first timing belt work on a V6. After putting all the pulleys in the right position, installing the belt with the marks in the right place, I have this strange dilemma. The FSM says to rotate the crank pulley two times and check the timing marks. They all align OK on the pulleys, BUT the marks on the belt shift one tooth to the left every two revolutions. I guess this is no big deal, because the pulleys all still line up the way they should. But, has anyone else observed this?
The belt (Goodyear) 40240 has a graphic next to the model number with arrows pointing in one direction and "FR" printed next to them. I 'assume' that this means the arrows should point towards the front of the car, or away from the front of the engine? I just kinda want to get these simple questions settled before I button it all up... thanks

I would say as long as the markings on the cam sprockets and the crank are where they should be you should be okay.

The marks on the belt are only for the initial set up, they won't line up after rotating the engine. Just make sure the marks on the sprockets line up, ignore the marks on the belt.

I agree with the above, as long as the marks on the pulleys line up you should be good to go. Eventually the marks on the belt will hit the marks again, but you will have one tired arm at the end of the process

I just did mine and they lined up after two rev's and I turned it two more times and it was like you said but the cam marks were still spot on. I put it back together and she fired right up.

Yup, mine did the same thing. Had me all confused. But, like others have said, as long as the marks line up, you're good to go.
