Last 2 days, from a cold start my 4runner shakes, as the rpm
Goes up it shakes more. This happens up until it reaches running temp. Spark plugs were changed about 1 month ago with ngk platniums correctly gapped.
Anyone ever have this?

 

My friend had a similar sympton on his 3vze and found out head gasket was toast, coolant leaked onto the #1 & #6 pistons so upon cold start it idled rough until coolant burned off. Are you having to add coolant more often? Has the head gasket ever been done? I hope this gives you a starting point.

 

Mine does something similar, but only for a few seconds. It quits way before it gets warm. It is not my DD so I only start it a couple days a week.

I hope it is not the head gasket.

 

I'm stumped, I have no water in my oil or no water vapor in my exhaust And as soon as it reaches operating temp it stops and runs perfectly.

 

Does it have AC? if so is it on defrost when you warm it up.
Just chiming in here cause I have a similar shaking on a 3.4 when cold but only when the ac compressor kicks on for a second or two at a time. If I turn the defrost off the compressor doesn't run and no shaking. It feels like the compressor is out of balance or something. Like mentioned above head gasket, but this was the only thing other then that I could think of.

 

The truck had ac but it went out like 6 months ago. I think I gotta go check the plugs even though their new.
