3vz coolant bypass pipe
Im almost done with my headgaskets. The coolant pipe that runs in the valley, under the intake manifold. Is there supposed to be a gasket where the pipe meets the block? I can't seem to find one on the online parts websites. Its weird cause when I removed it, it doesn't look like there ever was a gasket. Seems like there must be something cause if it leaks you would have to remove everything to get to it. Is it safe just to use rtv??

There is no gasket there. The FSM calls for a bead of seal packing material (FIPG). I have used Ultra Black RTV (or similar) with no issues.
