Ok, I need some input from the pro here...

I am looking at a 1992 Pickup SR5, 5spd, 4x4, blown head gaskets in a 3VZ.
The guy wants $500 for it.

Im thinking about swapping in a 22RE 5spd.

Is this possible. (i love the 22RE i've got now)

 

Possible...yes....pain in the butt....yes.

Computer...wiring harness...trans....blah blah blah...

keep saving for a 22re truck.

 

and the motor is not a irect bolt in even with the 22re mounts. the perches on the frame where the motor mounts bolt to are about 2" futher back on a 6 cyl truck. I just finished one of theses swaps last week. nt all that difficult but just time consuming and u really should have a complete donor truck unless you have al;ot of toyota bones laying around.

 

If you are going to swap....start shopping for a 3.4.
