3rd gen front end on a 2nd

A local guy got rear ended bad in his 99 runner, he's already taken the drive line, but Im wondering if the front end from his truck, or even just the grill and lights would fit onto a 2nd gen runner, with minor modifications. Are the 3rd gens wider or anything?

it would require much more than "minor" modification. The front ends are WAY different.

Yeah, I looked into it so I could get some halfway decent headlights ... it will take AT LEAST the entire front clip (fenders, hood, lights, grile). That's where I stopped looking - too much work for what I was looking for, so I don't know what would be required to make all that work..
