340H transmission question

Now before anyone says use the search function... I did and didn't find much on this specific question.

So here goes: I recently ruined my tranny while wheeling (submersed the truck in water for over an hour). When I managed to get it back to dry land, I drained the engine oil, checked the tranny fluid (which seemed to be ok) and everything worked for a while. I must have been blind when I checked the tranny fluid becuase later that week the tranny started slipping and finally gave out completely. I have since drained the fluid, ran it, drained the fluid, and so on. Nothing seemed to work. It won't shift at all.

Now to my question: Can I use the TC out of that tranny with a recently purchased (used) 340H? The reason I am even asking is because the tranny I bought came from a V-6 which has a different stall. I heard that the water could damage the clutches in the TC? Is this true or what?
