i have 33 12 15 on my truck right now, with the stock gears. do i absolutley have to change my gearing? if i dont will it hurt anythig

You should run 4:88 gears. You will find that 4:88 gears with 33" x12.50x15" tires installed on your truck closely matches the stock Toyota truck's rated RPM and torque range. You will feel little difference in driving from stock with regards to acceleration or highway RPMs. Your handling will be better due to the wider tires but you will possibly have some hydroplaning in wet weather depending on the tires you select (Toyota trucks are light).

 

I'd run 5.29 gears more get up and go with the bigger tire. and heavy duty

 

I run 4.10's and 33's, had 35's previously. Worked just fine. Taking off on a hill with the 35's when the truck was cold was a bit of a bear sometimes but I have a carburetor too. I spent the money for 4.88's on my last truck and yeah it is nice but not nice enough for me to dump any money into the IFS diff.

 

i had 5.29s an 36s with a 22re 5 speed, and my speedo was right on, on the interstate at 70 i was running 2800 rpms, really depends on tire size too how your rpms are, with 35s youll run higher rpm with the same speed, bigger tire lower rpm, more speed, just dont expect to go over hills without down shifts

 

Recall the 22RE is pretty rev-happy and big tires not only act as a rubber overdrive, but also weigh more, significantly more than the stock 28" tires.

 

Hey guys so i was going to get 33inch tires for my 1994 toyota pickup with 4.10 gears i was wondering if that would work or even if i can go up to 35inch tires
