3.0 V6 question

I'm looking at a 92' yota extended cab, but its got the 3vze. Am I correct in assuming the truck motor is just as bad about head gaskets as the 4 runners?

Yep, yep same engine. Look for a PM you about your 4runner with a blown motor for sale.

Just buy it and drive it till the 3.slow pukes, then drop a 3.4 in it. Not all 3.0 engines lose headgaskets, its more of a luck thing in my opinion. I have 7 friends with 3.0 trucks that have never had gaskets done and have never had a problem, they are just underpowered-expensive-hard to work on-engines. I had good luck with mine, very dependable, I just wanted more power so I did the 3.4 swap.

I don't find the engine hard to work on. I very much agree about the power, but its not as much an issue for me with a truck as it was with the runner.
