3.0 Oil leak musings...
I've put about 300 miles on my 4Runner since I put the engine back in it.
Since, I have noticed a slow, but steady oil leak.
The outside of the starter is covered in oil, a little piece of the passengers side exhaust manifold has oil on it, as does the clutch slave.
The front diff is covered in oil almost completely.
I immediatly thought it was the oil pan seal. Now I am not so sure (alot of fender in the way!).
So, now I am thinking about replacing the valve cover gasket on that side.
When I put the valve cover gaskets on, I sealed the corners with FIPG, but I Didn't do the whole gasket channel.
Now I am thinking I should pull thise gasket, clean them up and reFIPG the channels of the vavle covers.
Should I throw some fipg on the bottoms of the gaskets as well, or am I Fipging this thing to death? :silly:
The gaskets are OEM toyota Gaskets, and oem toyota FIPG.
