3.0 coolant leak and injector questions

3.0 coolant leak and injector questions
Hey guys, I'm tracking down one of the our famous and mysterious coolant leaks in the back of my 3.0 (94 4Runner) and while I have it apart I have a few questions, any help or input is appreciated ...
First, I've removed the upper plenum and throttle body and found a small leaker in the hose that goes to the throttle body. I'm still looking for other possible leaks (it seems more water was leaking than that little hose could shoot out) but anyways... I saw a post where someone said they've bypassed the TB with that hose (seems easy enough, just a longer hose)...what are the pros/cons of doing this? I'm assuming the engine would take a little longer to warm up, but it also seems that is two fewer connections so two fewer possible leaks in the future.
Second, when I did the head gaskets I broke the locks on a couple of the injector connectors, they seem to have held together anyway but I may as well fix them while I'm in here. Someone posted they've used zip ties to hold the connectors together...I haven't looked at them real close yet, but it seems like a good solution, but I'm not seeing where you could actually zip the two together where it would hold anything. Has anyone done this, and if so, a picture would be wonderful!!
Lastly, no stores around here carry Toyota gaskets, so I would have to order the plenum and throttle body gaskets (probably Rock Auto) but what do you all think of using FIPG instead?

Thanks, DJ99, it's not the price, but nobody around here stocks them so I would have to order them one way or another. I was reluctant to use FIPG, I'll get the gaskets ordered, was just hoping to get it back together today but that's not going to happen anyway, and won't have more time to work on it until Wed. anyway.
The trick with the zip ties really worked out. I used two small ones on each injector. They are nice and tight now, so I'm glad I did this!!!
