3.0 cam advance?

I was wondering if it would be possible to gain more high end power from the 3vze by advancing the cam shafts about a groove or two on the timing belt? Im trying to get more power from about 3,000rpm and up. I know this could make it a bit slower below that but I dont really care cause I always have it floored anyways. anyone ever tried it?

Don't bother. It's made to run pretty much where it's at. You can advance the timing 2 more degrees & run premium unleaded.

Its throwing the knock sensor code, even though ive replaced the sensor and the pigtail harness. I havent actually put the sensor in the stock location though, its just sitting on the intake manifold.

I think the ecu will retard the timing though without the knock sensor right? Cause I have the distributor set all the way advanced, it runs best like that, ive tried turning it back a bit but it starts pinging. Ive been running 87 octane though, ill try premium next time.
