Have you searched the forums here? It has been discussed....it can be done and the punch holes for where the pedals need to go ought to be already in the floor (I have not looked myself but that's what I hear!).

I have been looking at doing the same thing but as it appears the 3.0 does not have much life left, I will likely be doing an entire engine/tranny swap.

Its a pretty simple swap. The trans t-case and crossmember need to be swaped. You need to drill a hole in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder. I belive its 1 3/4" You can use the auto brake pedal braket as a template. It already has the hole in it. Driveshafts are the same. Swap the auto flywheel with the manual- make sure you get new bolts the auto bolts arent long enough. You need to do a bit of trimming to the floor pan where the shifter goes through and install the manual trim and shifter boot. The wiring isnt that hard. Need to hook up reverse lights - 2 wires, easy if you have the connector from the manual. Can be done without it though. Then either connect the 2 wires for the park-neutral switch or run them to your clutch pedal switch so you can have cruise. Check out the repair manual for the diagram to see which wires are which. I cant remember now. All in all can easily be done in a weekend.

I am interested in this swap too. Sounds simple, yet seems complicated. Though that and 4.56's in my truck I think would make it so much more fun to drive.

Ive got some info on my swap build page 2 or 3 I think. I also did a 3.4 swap at the same time. Its really easy to put in the 5spd the only thing I havent really looked into is the wiring. But its been done and is definetly possible so do some more searching and you shall find

My build is at the bottom of my truck info
