3.0 to 3.4 swap?s

Hello everyone, I have a 91 toyota extra cab 2wd 5spd with the 3.0v6, and the motor is probably going to either need a major overhaul or a replacement. I stumbled across the 3.4 swaps on here and would like any info help related to my specific truck.

Here is where I need help
Does it matter if the donor motor is 5spd or auto, 4wd?
If the donor motor is auto do I need to buy a 5spd wire harness?

If I buy the ors swap kit I would only need the longblock and ecu?
Will aftermarket headers clear in the older body?

What about a/c,abs?
My truck has both, is my a/c system a bolt on to the 3.4 or does it need to be modified?
Abs seems to take alot of space will I have any problems with clearances with the header?

Also where is everyone getting their swaps from? I've tried searching for engines, front clips, and can't seem to find anything reasonable. What's the going rate for these? front clip? engine+trans+ecu? Complete lonblock?
I can't find anything local to me, I'm in Hawaii, so if there are any salvage places you know of pm me
Any info you can give me or link would be appreciated
Thanks
P.s. Please don't me I'm just a newb

Do a search on here, you'll learn tons.

The just of what I've read is your best bet is to get the entire donor vehicle if possible, with wiring harness, transmission, engine, etc. and make sure if you have an auto, get an auto transmission 3.4, if you got a manual, get a manual 3.4. The more different the variables are, the more difficult your swap will be. Keep it as simple as possible.

Welcome! Yes search is your friend - but I also know how hard this can be with such a broad topic. Post up snippets you find from your searches and ask further questions on them (Then it shows you are at least trying to search)

And why would we ban you? LOL We don't work that way at YT!

Thanks guys.
I'm gonna check out some auctions around here see if I can find a whole tacoma but I have a feeling it's gonna be hard to find a 3.4 5spd so I'll also try contact some auto recyclers to see if they'll ship me a complete front clip.
The hunt is on

See above link to my swap post. It will answer many of your questions.

The parts can be peiced from different vehicles, but you will have to be very sharp on part numbers etc. to ensure they all work correctly together. It is by far better to spend the time to find a complete donor vehicle package.

Go to ORS site and they list all the parts you will need to provide to use their kit. I used only their conversion harness and was very pleased with it. found only 1 minor wiring defect in the conversion harness. It was that the wire to the temp guage was in the wrong spot in the connector. Once I moved it, it worked fine. Very easy install.

A/C is simple. You don't need to even break open the system. Just move the compressor to the side. See write up for details.

I got my swap parts from a salvage about 120 miles from my home. Tough to find because they do not stay in one piece long once they arrive in the salvage. I paid $1600.00 for 1999 Tacoma engine, harness, ecu, evap canister and switches, and evap pressure switch. No accesorries, starter, intake. Paid $90 for a pair of 2002 tublar factory manifolds and $20 for the matching tubular crossover.

It is very nice upgrade.
