2nd gen winch behind valance

Ok i know its been done on other gen 4runners BUT...behind the plastic valance there looks like there's just enough room to mount a winch in there. Can you guys with winches post the dimensions so i can get a general idea of how it would fit, what would needed to be fabbed. ect. thanks!

I just dont see it happening on our gen 4runners. I don't see where there is enough room to tuck a winch up in there while still keeping the stock bumper.

Kinda negates the point of a bumper doesn't it?

you can still have the bumper cause that is where the valance goes

From the look of Max's truck, if he rear-ended someone or hit something on the trail, the winch would be the first to go.

just be careful on the trail but i agree you can't prevent damage...i'd rather not spend 800 on a winch bumper then buy a winch if i can incorporate the winch onto my frame for now and buy a bumper later

I completely agree with that one, but protection is protection. Good luck mounting it there. I suggest a 2-3" body lift to fit it above the frame and under the bumper.
