22RTE Shaking engine
Hey all,
first post to forums as I’m stumped. My 1986 22RTE is shaking violently it’s been doing this since I got it. The idle is usually fine sometimes drops or raises. One thing to note is I took it to get smogged and my EGR didn’t have vacuum? I looked at the diagram and everything ligned up and I changed the BSVS valve.
I just replaced front motor mounts (OEM 12361-65011) which were a bitch with the turbo on the drivers side btw
pulled plugs and checked cylinders, all were fine
inspected For vacuum leaks
any help would be appreciated
thanks.

Timing off?
A cylinder not getting spark or fuel. Or low compression in a cylinder?
What work did the previous owner do, or try to do, just before selling?
Is the distributer bolt centered in the slot, or off to one side.?
I'm guessing you got a deal because it runs bad, what reasons were given?

the engine was rebuilt about 60k miles ago after looking through the pack of receipts I got with the truck
the injectors were one of my guess as well. Not sure how to test them.
timing was good
as for the distributor bolt being centered or off to one side what could that cause ?

Pull one sparkplug wire at a time while it’s idling. If you pull one and it gets worse than that cylinder was working. If you pull one and there’s no change you know which cylinder to focus on.
if the distributer is off to one side in the adjusting slot it means something isn't quite right, and there’s a few possibilities. I’d pull the distributer and reinstall, hoping it was off a tooth. But if that doesn’t work I’d start checking the timing chain. The pulley slipping on the balancer is a possibility, but I rarely see that
