22RTE to a 22re

i know that alot of people want to make there 22re a turbo but can you make a turbo just a regular 22re.. I know what people are saying to make a 22re block a turbo block you have to drill a hole but i can just plug it cant i. I have a 22re head from another engine but is there anything else that i have to do. i have some pictures to show what i have done. also a 22r crank would work for a 22re wouldnt it???

after you get past the lower compression of the 22RTE and how the ECU would deal with the 22RE... let us know.
/me waits for the 22rte crowd to comment.

why would you you want to do this in the first place? You would need another computer, and probably the whole wiring harness. Getting around the lower compression ratio due to the dished pistons would mean new pistons. The fuel injectors are bigger on the 22rte also.

ya i took the turbo apart tonight and it is shot!! I for sure want to not make it a rte and make it a re i have a head for it. I am going to replace all crank and pistons. Is there any thing that is going to be different on the rte block. I know it has a bigger oil pump but i thought that just only the yiming chain cover is bigger. Is there any thing else that i have to look for

timing chain cover is different i believe...it has two oil galleys instead of one. Im sure you know this, but the fuel injectors are also bigger on the 22rte. You could always use an RE head on a RTE engine and still turbo it (sorry, i just like turbos)
