22re towing
I am thinking about towing my Old Jeep wrangler to davidsfarm (www.youtube.com/davidsfarm) this summer to kill. The trip is is a little over 2k miles each way.And I was wondering how munch my 90 truck 4x4 22re 5 speed can do. I have 4.11's and 31's But I can switch the wheels from my isuzu that has P235's (same lug pattern) if I need to. Tell me guys what you think.......I hope you all are not going say this is a dumb question.

Seems like you have way to much time on your hands. you want to drive 4 thousand miles spend more money on gas then I spend in 6 months .
Just to Kill a jeep.
The towing would be no real yank to do if you know how to drive doing things like that . It is the time you plan to do it in . If you do more than 400 miles or so a day stopping often to let things cool down and check things . Your looking at 8 long days of driving. If it was me I would drive in the coolest part of the day like 9 pm to 9 am
If you have never done a 12 or 14 hour day in your truck the transmission gets a tad warm after 4 or 5 hours .
i say you an do what you want .

The jeep is almost stock. But I was going sell the hardtop and doors. And anything else I could sell.....So if I do take this Jeep to get killed do you think I should put the P235's on?
Edit:
the jeep is a 99.

And I am hoping the money I get from selling the doors and top will cover my gas and stuff.

What's wrong with just driving the jeep up there? Then fly back. Plane tickets should be pretty cheap now. Cheaper than gas to drive yourself, I would think.

It has the death wobble when you drive over 45 mph (if you don't know what it is then google it you will see). And I am not sure it will make it there.

You'll spend less money fixing that wobble than gas would cost you. Not to mention your time. Our '97 TJ had the death wobble, fixed it with a new adjustable tracbar

I don't know. It's not just the wobble. It's I really don't want to drive a car 2k miles that I can't depend on. I think I may just kill the jeep local.

Dumb question, but what is Daves Farm? Where is it? And why would it be worth torturing your Yota to get a Heep there?
I've been considering flat towing the Yota behind my Heep Cherokee, but I doubt the 4.slow with an automatic will like it. . .
My Dad has a 2002 TJ "Wrangler" and it weighs like 3300+ from the factory (with a soft top). Removing the doors and top will probably take off a whopping 200lbs+/-. That's still more than your Yota would do comfortably. I tow my parents ski boat (less than 1700lbs) around the flats of the Central Valley and my 22r with 31's and 4.10 gears doesn't like it much. It does it, but it would rather not! I've also done it with 4.10s and 33's and it liked that much less. lol I'm looking forward to see how it will do with 33's and my new 5.29 gears.
