Unhappy 22re timing chain

Well I bought this 86 4Runner and I was told the timimg chain jumped a tooth well.............this turned out to be a pain in my a$$. The motor is pretty much junk. What is the cheapest way to get it running or to put a new motor in it or V8 conversion. What are all my options? PLEASE HELP ME.

harder than rebuilding your 22RE....

check out www.offroadsolutions.com for a 3.4L swap, or downey or NWOR for other v6 and v8 conversions..

Have you pulled the head yet? If the thing just needs the head even buying a NEW head its a weekens work and about $400=450 including gaskets, fluids etc.
Junk yard 22Re's are plentiful but always a chance that i has issues.

A Repower is a LOT of work. The extra power is nice form the 4.3 but it is going to take you a few weeks and a LOT more money for adaptors and such.

Not always true. We test run our engines for a minimum of 6 hours, as well as running a battery of tests and inspections (such as guides and valves for example) so we KNOW our engines are good.

Define how your motor is "junk" Rods bent? Valves bent? Bad HG? Timing cover destroyed??
