one word, NO

the MAF is there to tell the engine how much air it's getting into it so it knows how much fuel to put in, if there is no MAF how will the engine know how much fuel to put in. ???

sounds like you got to talking to one of your ricer buddies and his CAI in a car that has a MAP and not a MAF.

First of all our trucks don`t have a MAF, they have a mechanical air flow meter (AFM), there is a huge difference between the two. If you don`t like the factory set up with the intake running across the radiator, then do a battery/ intake swap. Do a search, many here have done this and you can also upgrade to a larger AFM that will give you a small gain in power. If you keep the stock AFM you can get an adapter to put a cone filter on it so you can remove the factory air box.

Geezus. Do some searching yo.

No you can't delete the AIR FLOW METER. That's like removing the gas tank.

You want to clean up the engine bay? Do the battery/intake swap. Put some spectra gear on it. Oh and don't forget to hang a caribener off your rear bumper....
