check your hoses for leaks? I've got a small leak on my bypass hose (think thats what it's called) that comes out of the water pump. Likes to drip onto the alternator. Can you see where the fluids dripping from?
Have you checked your oil to make sure its not seeping into the head?

The timing chain would make a crap load of noise before it would wear thru the cover. Hopefully you'd freak out about the noise and take care of it before the worst happened.
