22re 22r interchangable parts??
I'm sure I already know the answer to this question, but thought I'd ask before I purchased it.. I have a great lead on a nice low mileage 22r... 1987 22r... I have a 22re in my truck, but want to buy this motor as a spare.. Will all the intake parts and such bolt right onto the 22r head to make it fuel injected? Are the bolt patterns different for the Carb intake as opposed to the EFI intake? I know the exhaust ports may be round instead of pear shaped... Will a header from a 22re bolt onto this head? I could throw the head from the 22re onto it... but would rather use everything I can on this 22r since it is in such good shape.. What do you guys think??
Thanks in Advance...

yes you can bolt up the efi stuff to the 22r if you search you shall find and also the header will work as all 22re-22r from 1986-1995 are pear shaped ports

there is NO difference in compression. just wild internet rumors, they are all exactly the same from the head to the oilpan. for all purposes, the only real difference between these engines is the intake manifold.
now, an '81-84 22R has a lower(9:1) compression, but it's an entirely different beast.

Thanks for the confirmation... I was thinking that, but wanted to be sure.. This guy was gonna cut up the truck and bring the motor to the dump along with the truck... so for 200 bucks I cannot really go wrong..
Thanks,
Ian
