So i was just wondering if the 2-door 1990 4runner is any different than the 4-door 1990 4runner. Since they were rarely (if ever) brought the the US did they come with more options. or are they the same just with two doors?

 

and does anybody know a site just about the 2 door 4runners. im trying to learn some more info.... how many brought to America ect....

 

well, I'll tell you what I know...
they stop bringing them to the us cause domestic two door were not selling so the gov. put the tariff tax on the 2 door model. In fact, the 4 door ones were cheaper than the 2 dr. the doors are longer ...kinda like the extra cab. all the machanics are the same as the 4 door.

 

Yep. Same-same except for number of doors.
The body differences are obvious, longer doors, different windows. Otherwise same as any 90-95 4Runner, same options etc.
There are quite a few of them, they aren't *really* rare, although they were a very small percentage of the Runner sales and eventually were discontinued. Apparently everyone wanted their 4Runner to look just like all the other SUVs with 4 doors...
There were many more in Canada.

One thing different that I noticed not long ago. (It just kind of caught my eye one day.) The passenger side door panel on the 2doors has 2 door handles. One in it's normal location and one more towards the rear for the rear passengers to open the door easier without having to reach so far.

That was kind of interesting. It took me about 5 months to notice it. Just thought I would share that useless information.
