man..that sucks that toyota had to stop selling them bc of high tariffs. I would buy one in a second if they were easier to find.

Is that a Vortec V6?
I thought there would be less room between fenders with a Chevy.

Ive lived from CA to NY and the most 4Runners ive ever seen are right here in Colorado (seems like theres a million or more just in Denver and i look at every one).
All the 2 door 2nd gens that ive seen have only been on the internet.....and ironically EVERYONE of them has been from Canada. Toyota must have sold 70% or more of the 2 doors over the border.

interesting note: as i recall, the reason why they stopped making them is that our govt (US) put a very high tariff specifically on two door, japanese built SUVs because they were dominating the market. this was in the days of the 1st gen 4runners and pathfinders. so what did the japanese auto companies do?

they built 4 door versions.

Well, they do LOOK nice, but they are not very practical.
One day Iwas wishing my red two-door was a black 4 door. 2 Weeks later I rolled the red runner and replaced it with a black 4 door!

Two doors just don't work for me. Limited access and egress are the biggest issues that come to mind.

Yeah, the US charged Toyota the "high tariffs" just so that they could turn around a couple of years later and utilize basically the same body configuration for the "Blazer", or does'nt that "C" pillar configuration look familiar to anyone else ?!

'Though, kernel, that trully is a sick 'Runner ! I wish that I could get ahold of one of those, they're so sweet.
