1st "truck"

Hi guys, as yall know I had a 1989 1st gen 4runner. Bought it cheap for my first vehicle, for when i turn 16... Well after 5 months we sunk alot of money into it and we made it RIGHT everything was perfect but then i decided it would be best if i got a truck instead of a 4runner. well we sold the 4runner and now im looking for a 2nd gen pickup 4x4 1984-88 2 door...

im wondering if that is a good choice? also is it reliable? probably going to get a 22 r/re and manual... ive heard that the manuals have more acceleration and power than auto's. i dont know how to drive a standard/ stick shift but I'll try to learn... im 15 about to be 16 in august...

Hey Kody, I'm new to Yotatech and am on my second Toyota truck. I have an 82 DLX Longbox with 22r 4 spd and just got a 91 X-cab 3.0 with 5 spd. I think no matter what you get you'll be happy with it. However, I would agree that you should stick with a manual and the 22re would be an excellent choice. You'll be driving stick in no time with a light truck geared the way they are. Have fun and post lots of pictures along the way.

Sooooooo did you say you had a 1st gen runner and got it tip top and then sold it, and now your looking for a truck.

K, I re-read the post yes you did say this.

Ummm ok, sorry I have a 91 and I would trade it for a good 1st gen runner in a heartbeat.
