1st Gen Rear Defrost

It's the time of year I think about how I need to fix the rear defrost again. Can't see jack out the back.
I've checked the connections to the window under the tailgate panel. Those are good. I'm thinking maybe the relay. So where is the relay located and how could I test that? And is there a fuse I should check?

Fuse > rocker switch >glass > ground. nothing but wiring in between. One of the shortest schematics in the EWD

Over the years mine progressively lost all defrosting ability. I think the wires on the glass degrade. If it's original glass, I'd be surprised if yours are still okay. But maybe they are. Ohmmeter will tell you.
