Question 1992 3.0 starting troubles

I have a 1992 3.0 in a 4runner with an automatic. when you first go out and start it you have to crank on it for a minute or two and it will pop and die and you do this a couple of times before it starts and runs, once it runs it starts fine. I replaced the cold start injector, fixed it for a while, now it acts like it is getting no fuel, the check engine light is not on. Could my fuel pump be getting weak? Thanks

Do you have fuel presure as it is cranking? There are two circuits which fire the fuel pump. 1. Engine cranking 2. Flow through the AFM

It is only a guess but I would think the engine cranking circuit is not starting your pump. Try disconnecting your cold start injector. Have someone hole the fuel line in a small container when you try to start the truck cold. Are you getting fuel when you first try to turn over the engine?

If it will run after you finally get it started, and it will start when warm, then it's the cold start injector timing switch!!!! It's on the back of the manifold to the left of the big heater hose.....black in color.
