1991 1ton dually build

Well here it is.

1991 1ton dually. 3.0V6, A340 automatic transmission, 2 wheel drive, ex RV, walk through cab. This has been a project that I have wanted for SO long! Super excited! Going to pick up extended cab today. Don't know if I have to graft the 2 together or if I can just use the new cab. Doors, fender, hood, grill, dash, all from original cab. Will it all just swap? Don't know, we shall find out. Motor had head gaskets replaced recently, runs terrible. Transmission shift solenoids (I think) are bad. Thank you 954runner95 for your post. Don't know how to do links, sorry.
So, diagnose current motor/trans or swap out? Definitely leaning towards swapping out. To what though? 3.4, small block chevy? Old,Vortec,LS? Lets see what presents itself.

Would love to find a truck bed and DIY some dually fenders, but I have a flatbed trailer that you would think was made for it!

I welcome all of your input.

Slacker- those fenders are cool! Can't find a decent bed right now, though. Going with a flatbed.

87-4runner- pretty sure thats a one ton. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Alright, I didn't like the extended cab. It was to rusty at the corners. I did grab a standard cab that is in great shape. Going to put the 2 together. Also snagged a rear sliding window and a sunroof. I know, I'm gonna patch the holes to make more holes.

Going to put the two together as in swap parts between the two and make a good one or going to combine the two cabs and make a double cab?

Not a double cab. Going to cut the back and roof out of donor cab and weld onto original cab. Keeping it a standard cab.

New cab. The trailer it is sitting on will become the flatbed.
