1990 toyota 4Runner power problems

Yesterday I drove out to pick something up, car has been running perfectly fine. I saw a light come on my dash saying "rear anti lock" it flickered on for a few seconds. When i got to my destination stopped the car and came back about 5 minutes later the car was completely dead. No battery no electrical units anywhere were working. checked the fuses they were good, jump started battery didn't work. took battery out (it was old) took it to autozone they tested it, came back bad.

So we bought a new battery installed it and thought that would fix it but nothing happened it was as it had always been. the new battery is tested good. I'm told that the problem now is probably a fuseable link in my starter cable to the battery. I'll probably research that more would appreciate it if anyones had a similar problem before and could help me out, much appreciated!

take a screwdriver w a plastic and handle and touch the bolt where the battery cable connects the starter... if you get an arc? the starter has power.

...one time i had the wire from the ignition to the starter tug on the connection and it broke the soldering inside the starter (where the plunger is)

that sounds more like the culprit. mine was old and cracked... so i had to do the same a few months ago.

Check the power wire from the battery to the fuse box next to the battery, if its bad or broken you won`t get any power to anything, i had this same problem happen to me on an 84 4Runner. I had to replace that wire and everything worked fine after that.
