Angry 1990 4Runner rear wiper wont work... Im stumped! HELP!

This may have needed to go in the electrical section, please move if needed.

Hi Everyone, Im new to the forum and need the rear tailgate specialists!

Ill try and keep this short and sweet, here it goes. For the longest time Ive had problems with the rear window, Ive put in a junkyard window regulator and motor thats in very good shape. Ive tested all safety lockouts for the window/wiper, the "back door" light illumination switch, the one that the little bar slides up into, was bad, I replaced it with a working one. So all switched work on the gate. Ive tested them ALL.

I then discovered the relay box in the rear drivers side behind the storage cubby. I shook it, it rattle.. I thought "well, that doesnt sound good" opened it up and the two relays that are on two separate pcb modules were broken away from the board, the fine wires must have broke from vibration, fatigue... Soldered those babys back on thinking that would do the trick, nothing... However my rear defrost started working again, I dont know why since I hear a click under the dash, not from any of the relays on that board.

Keep in mind, the window is all the way up, all gate safety lockouts seem to work correctly, just cant get power to the wiper motor. When i flip the switch I cant even hear a relay click, nor does the status of any of the relay coils change its like the switch itself is bad but the front wipers work just fine, front wash works fine, rear wash works fine, the rear wiper never turns on tho... Oh, and Ive tested the motor by powering it directly, works just fine.

I forgot to mention the PO ghettoed a wire to the pcb simulating that the wiper was in parked position (which it really wasnt) so that the window would work, I deleted the ghetto wire and returned the wiper back to parked position, window works perfectly now by either the front switch or the key in the gate, just cant get power to the wiper.

It is also my understanding that the wiper and the window utilize the same two relays, what needs to happen to divert power from the window to the wiper?

Im stumped, been at it most of the weekend, please help, TIA!

Bump?

Anyone? I know this has got to be a fairly common issue, I just cant find how anyone fixed it.

I'm led to think that it could be the switch inside the lever but, every other function works. I think its more likely a wiring issue since its been messed with by the po. Even still tho I cant find anything obviously wrong.

can you verify with a meter that power is getting to the circuit board?

Yes, all other functions work (defrost, window up, window down, washer) I just verified that I have continuity from the rear wiper switch all the way back. I have also noticed that when the rear wiper switch is turned on, and the window is all the way up, there is like a 3 second delay before it will go down. With the rear wiper switch off, the window will go right down, no delay. It definitely seems like there is a relay that isn't switching over between window and wiper, but so far havent been able to isolate which one it is...

I can either replace all the relays for around 30 bucks, or I may just order a whole new relay box off ebay.

If anyone on here has a couple extra relays, or has an extra relay box Id be interested in buying.
