1990 4 runner 3.4 swap automatic questions on doner
Just picked up a 1990 4 Runner 4x4 with automatic. It has the 3.0, but half of it is in the back of the buggy and there is a hole in crank case.
I want to swap in a 3.4 v6 but can't quite pin down what doner vehicle that I need to find to keep the automatic.
I found a automatic jdm engine with a ecu, but we don't know what it came out of. Anyone know the exact part number that I need to find on the ecu?
I have done a toyota swap before so I am pretty confident that I can do this as long as I get all the correct parts.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Your much further ahead to buy a complete donor vehicle.
You need the ECM to match the engine your getting which makes it much easier to have the vehicle.
Why not check out the 3.4 swap section lots of great reading there

You are probably correct on getting the doner. There was a crashed 4 runner that sold just yesterday for $500, I didn't have time to take a look at it. I just got the truck thursday night, it was a horse trade, I don't have much in this thing.
I have a 4x4 automatic, I think the automatic ECU has to come from a t100 or tacoma. Can someone confirm this?
I will check the 3.4 swap section.
