1990 22re pickup 2wd coolant bypass hose

hello
i need to change this coolant bypass hose The one that looks like a horseshoe on a 1990 22re 2wd pickup that is located behind the intake deep up in there
how difficult is it to change to get to
is it easier to go from the top of the engine or on the bottom ?

Best done on an engine stand! You might be able to approach it from the front on top. I don't recall the path on a 2wd, maybe from the bottom but the engine mounts and intake brace are right below it. 2 wheelers have the starter access panel iirc, should be doable there with bear paws but not Popeye forearms.

I was able to replace this hose on my 86 'Runner/22RE from above when I had the auxiliary air valve out.
