I did see one b4, it was a hazard cone orange with terrible alignment and also just as bad bridgestone 32" tires. It was a '90, 3.0, automatic, with around 200,000 miles. The frame was as dryrotted as possible. It looked like it had a small lift. It was priced at 2,600 in September and it is gone now. If I had the money, I would have jumped on it immediately

i have a 2 door and paid $1,200 for it. im constantly driving people and have had 5 people comfortably in mine. getting in is a pain but its not bad, its bearable. i love it and i think it does look more sleek like jay was saying... and mine has the rear tire carrier, is it rare? the original owner paid 22k for it fully loaded, i still have the original window sticker with all the options... heres a couple pics

Thanks matt, the runners with the spare tire under the cargo area look naked. I love my spare tire carrier! Lol the cover I had to rip off tho, I needed to use the spare and the zipper broke. But I think it looks even better without a tire cover

My zipper is broke to but the cover is kinda stuck on.To bad I cant get an actual new logo cover from factory, with different sizes available.I might just take mine off,it has locks on the wheels.Your right they do look naked with out the rack. The thought of getting underneath the truck to reach for the spare and dealing with a gooped up tire caked with crap doesnt sound fun.

2Dr 4Runner
I have a 1990 2Dr and I love it. Has just over 240K on it but still runs like a champ. Only problem is I just failed my emissions test this morning with hc levels 4 times the limit. Anyone have any suggestions other than getting a new muffler (rusted out in a few spots)? Thanks

I don't see why they even bothered making a 2 door version. Maybe to cut costs?
I would HATE crawling through the driver's door to reach tools/ camping gear/ stuff in the back. It would drive me NUTS. I don't even think they looked any good either. Reminds me of a 2 door Blazer.
Sorry, that would be a Blazing Blazer. This is better (or not):

I don't see the point to the 2 door 4Runner (unless it has a removable top), and I only carry 2+ passengers a couple times a year. It would only make life more difficult, in every situation. Why wouldn't you want 4 doors? I'm far more interested in functionality than looks.
When your carrying anything- tools, camping gear, coolers, groceries, bodies etc, having side access to the rear is really useful.
Every time I see one (most days I'm on the road?) I think to myself "you bought the wrong truck".

Thing is, there is no disadvantage to having 4 doors, have two only makes it tougher to get at the cargo area (I've removed my two back seats and just have a cargo area.
The longer the front doors, the tougher it is to get out in tight parking spaces be it at a cars at a mall or trees.
I'd be seriously bummed if I woke up and my truck had transformed into a 2 door mutant truck overnight. I'm always carrying tools, textbooks, camping gear, or fishing gear, it would be a big PITA not having rear access.

I really like the longer door/front seating area. Everytime I hop in the girlfriends 4runner I I hit my leg on the door frame, and my arm is very uncomfertable resting on the door. The lock does a great job of jabbing into the underside!
Ive never had a problem getting out of the truck because of the longer doors and ive parked in some tight places!
Different strokes I suppose.
Im used to going into the back by flipping the seat forward.
The second set of doors is nice if you are constantly loading people/large amounts of crap in and out of yer rig. I don't carry many people tho!
Id buy a 2door before a 4 door anyday! I really think they look cleaner, gives it more of a truck feel. If it had a removable top.. oh boy!

I my self love my 93 2dr, I prefer the look over the 4dr, the lines just look better and I love the bigger doors. I do not carry people in the back and when I do its easy even though I have a lift.
The 2rd was only sold in the US will 92 I believe and 93 in Canada, more were sold in Canada than the US as well. Mine was 07/93 production and a special order by the original owner. Its a rare one being the late production and the color (green only available in 93> 4runners). I would almost say its one of the last 2dr's sold in North America but I have nothing to back it up. I just like the color and the fact that I can drive around and not see another like it every 5min.

Yeah i know how you feel. Mine is from canada and has alot of rust. There is alot of rust that you can barely see in the picture below, its mostly under the paint. This is the worst of it...
And an update to my pictures from the previous page. New Badland rear bumper
